Steven Seagal is Under Siege by the Tax Man.

Sensei Steve Seagal trusted advisor to the black house team of fighters including Middle weight Champion Anderson Silva and Lyoto Machida. Is in a fight of his own, Sensei Seagals opponent? The state of California.

Via TMZ:
Taking out a boatful of terrorists hell-bent on nuking Honolulu does not mean you can skip out on paying your taxes ... so the State of California has filed a giant tax lien against action film star Steven Seagal, TMZ has learned.

According to documents filed with the Los Angeles County Recorder's Office, Seagal owes the Golden State a whopping $335,606.35 for the year 2010.

I guess we'll finally get to see if Sensei Seagal is truly above the Law?

MMA's greatest Heels

Dave Meltzer takes a look back at some of the greatest villains in the history of MMA and delves into how it's a different roll in the fight game than in Pro-Wrestling or the Movies.
"Unlike in scripted entertainment, in MMA, almost nobody sets out to be the heel. The crowd decides, and if they hate you, you've got a few options. You can let it break you mentally. You can fight to win the crowd back over. Or you can go with the flow and accept that if the crowd doesn't like you, the next best thing is for them to hate you a lot."

Aldo vs Edgar on tap for UFC 153

Eric Koch has been forced  out of his main event feather weight title bout with Jose Aldo at UFC 153, after suffering a knee injury. But don't worry Uncle Dana found us a more then suitable replacement. USA Today with the scoop:
"Obviously, we've had a rough couple of weeks here at the UFC, and then sure enough, I walk in to work today, and Erik Koch is hurt, But Frankie Edgar, being the stud and the warrior that he is, steps up and accepts the fight."
Dana White

Frankie Edgar is the former lightweight champion of the world, and arguably still the best 155lbs fighter on the planet. But the Toms River, New Jersey Native is coming off back to back losses to Benson Henderson, the most recent of which saw Edgar win all but one of the rounds only to have the judges award the fight to Benson Henderson. Hopefully, the former champ gets a better shake in his featherweight debut, but with the fight taking place in Aldo's back yard of Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, Edgar has even more incentive to make sure "not to let it go to the judges" at UFC 153.

Check out Canelo's full sparring session as he prepares for Josesito Lopez.

Check out Canelo's full sparring session ahead of his bout with Josesito Lopez on Saturday September 15th from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. With rumors of a big money fight with Miguel Cotto for the winner, the stakes couldn't be higher for these two budding stars. It's unfortunate however that due to a promotional pissing match between Top Rank and Golden Boy, they'll be splitting the audience with another rising star in Julio Caesar Chavez Jr. who will be taking on middle weight king pin and number three pound for pound Sergio Martinez across town at the Thomas & Mack Center.

Jon Jones asked Dana White to get Chael Sonnen to quit calling him out on twitter. via

"Jones was very upset after Chael Sonnen began calling him out and mocking him on Twitter, so much so that he contacted UFC President Dana White and asked him to tell Sonnen to stop."

Jon Jones "will carry the cross for his companies decisions" - Seriously.

The Jones heel turn continues with this vaguely disingenuous twitter apology to his fans over twitter yesterday. Meanwhile Chael Sonnen continues to batter Jones with everything including the Kitchen sink. Via Sonnen's Mean Street Pizza:

Ward vs. Dawson 24/7 - Episode 1

Check out episode one of  Dawson vs.Ward 24/7 HBO's boxing documentary series chronicling the training camps of both Andre Ward and Chad Dawson as they prepare for their upcoming super middle weight title fight September 8th live from the Oracle in Oakland Ca.

Did Chael Sonnen try to 'Pearl Harbor' Jon Jones at UFC 151? Jones' Coach Mike Winkeljon thinks so.

In this interview with Jones' Striking coach Mike Winkeljohn seems to suggest that Chael Sonnen was aware of Dan Henderson's injury well before the August 22nd bout offer and had begun training weeks ago in the event of a possible bout against the light heavyweight champ Jon Jones.

"How long has Chael been attacking Jon in the media? Hmm. He's a man known for moneymaking schemes and cheating by bending the rules. And he's done this in various arenas. I think Chael played almost everyone like a fiddle. But I believe like a coward he tried to train and strike Jon when Jon wasn't looking. But hey, Jon is a warrior, and he, actually we, saw it coming. All I can say to Chael is nice try."
Wink's suspicions are not without merit with word beginning to trickle out that Henderson was injured as far back as three weeks ago, which would have given his Team Quest stablemate Chael Sonnen up to 21 days to get ready in the event that Henderson would not be able to compete.
