"I can pass a drug test in eight days with herbal cleansers. I drink 10 pounds of water and sweat out 10 pounds of water every day."
                                                         Nick Diaz

Or not......

As according to a release from NSAC executive director Kieth Kizer "Mr. Diaz tested positive for marijuana metabolites"

The following athletes were tested at UFC 143: Nick Diaz, Carlos Condit, Fabricio Werdum, Josh Koscheck, Renan Barao, Ed Herman, Dustin Poirier, Max Hollaway, Matt Riddle, Henry Martinez, Edwin Figueroa, Alex Caceres, Matt Brown, Chris Cope, Rafael Natal, Michael Kuiper, Stephen Thompson and Dan Stittgen. So much for Diaz/Condit II, because as a second time offenderDiaz could be looking at a year on the shelf and 40% of his purse forfeited to the Natural Born Killer Carlos Condit.

Ben Fowlkes does a good job explaining the feelings of the MMA community regarding this unfortunate if not entirely unexpected situation.

Carlos Condit to rematch Nick Diaz, official announcement Friday

So nice they had to do it twice, hot on the heels, of the hotly contested decision at UFC 143 Carlos Condit and Nick Diaz look like they'll be locking horns again soon, according to a tweet from UFC president Dana White's twitter. The initial 5 round clash garnered plenty of opinions from fans all over the world, making this rematch must see stuff.

Scoring UFC 143: Diaz vs Condit
UFC 143 had an amazing main event that has polarized the Mixed Martial Arts world with impassioned arguments going both ways as to the rightful winner of saturday's contest between Nick Diaz and Carlos Condit. I my self scored it 48-47 for Condit upon initial viewing Saturday night and 48-47 Diaz after watching it again today. Though if I were allowed 10-10 rounds I would have scored it 49-48 With Diaz winning rounds 2 and 5, and Condit taking round 4 while rounds 1 and 3 were draws at 10 a piece. Either way the world is calling for a rematch.
"I know (Georges St. Pierre) wanted that Diaz fight bad, but it's not going to be Diaz," said UFC President Dana White at the post fight press conference. "So he better get angry with Carlos Condit or focus on Carlos Condit or whatever he needs to do. Carlos Condit won this fight. No matter how much Georges and Nick hate each other, Carlos Condit won, and I think the fans are mad at the way Carlos Condit fought. Too fucking bad. He came in with a game plan and stuck to it and won. It's crazy, but, I was thinking it after the fight. You know, people are bitching and thinking it was close or whatever, we can do that fight again before GSP comes back. It depends on Carlos too, he's really gotta say, and Nick's gotta say I want to fight him again too."

                         On a Condit Diaz rematch
"At this point, (a rematch) is not something we’re looking to do, we're looking for Georges. People forget, Carlos waited a long time to get this fight. He was moved around, and shuffled around between fights. He won the fight. It doesn't interest us at all. I think clearly and decisively, he won the fight. Even Dana scored it for him. All of the opinions that matter scored Carlos as winner."
 Malki Kawa
Carlos Condit's manager
"It's one thing to avoid standing in the pocket, it's one thing to know how to dodge punches and kicks, and be somewhat elusive and have great defense, It’s another thing to turn your back and run from a fighter. That's completely different. You shouldn't be telling your fighter to fight like that. I think it's a disgrace and a shame. I've said this before: I don't like that (Jackson's) camp. I'm not going to take that back."

                                                                Diaz's Head Coach
"It’s not like we reinvented the wheel here with this game plan, A stick-and-move game plan against a guy that’s such an amazing fighter and such a tough guy as Diaz, for me is a no-brainer. If you look at the numbers, we hit him many more times than he hit us."
