TJ Grant's "injured", Showtime Pettis to face Benson Henderson at UFC 164.

When a minor knee injury forced Anthony "Showtime" Pettis out of his UFC featherweight title bout with Jose Aldo at UFC 163. TJ Grant had to know that he might be out his hard earned UFC lightweight title shot at UFC 164 too.

After all UFC 164 is in Milwaukee Wisc. Pettis's home town. Oh and the fact that Showtime Pettis vs Ben Henderson is one of the most talked about potential rematches in Mixed Martial Arts history. Mostly, the result of one of the most scintillating maneuvers ever executed in the sport. As it was in their first encounter that Showtime Pettis launched him self off the cage with one leg and kicked Ben Henderson in the FACE with the very same leg, debuting the awe inspiring and in this case WEC lightweight title fight winning, "Showtime Kick".

Those facts probably didn't ease TJ Grant's mind either.

But if that was the case, Grant wasn't letting on at UFC 161. I was able to catch up briefly with Grant at the UFC 161 "Block Party" and when asked whether or not he was worried about losing his upcoming title shot Grant was emphatic that "he had a contract and he was going to hold the UFC to it."

But here we are a month later and Anthony "Showtime" Pettis is set to face Benson Henderson for the UFC lightweight title at UFC 164 and TJ Grant is out his title shot, the result of an undisclosed injury or perhaps

An offer he couldn't refuse.

Or not....
